Read our Newsletter for September 2017
I hope you are all well and have been keeping busy.
It's hard to believe that the summer holidays have come and gone and we now have Autumn to look forward to, closely followed by Christmas.
As you will read below the time has come for my next charity challenge. As you are aware so far this year I have completed Tough Mudda and two 10K runs. On Sunday I am doing a skydive and then later this month I am doing a small 100 mile bike ride, the Birmingham VELO. Any money I raise from these events will go to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. So if there is any possibility you could sponsor me, I would greatly appreciate it, thank you. Wish me Luck!
Having not long returned from America, I am jetting off to Holland on Thursday to visit our customer Hi-Force. Neil is coming with me and as always I welcome opportunities such as these to catch up with my customers. If I have chance to get any photographs, they will be included in next month's newsletter.
Lastly as CSCM are exhibiting at a couple of events this year, it would be great if you could attend and visit us. Details of the initial Chamber event is below.
Have a great month everyone.

Job Title - Sales Support Length of Service - 18 Months
Here at CSCM I work alongside the Account Managers and our customers to prepare quotes. I am the main point of contact for any sales enquiries and handle all of our day to day quotes. I also work with the Account Managers and Technical team to produce quotations for our projects, such as replacement servers and cloud based services.
My day to day tasks include producing quotations, liaising with suppliers and speaking to our customers. On Wednesdays I attend the BNI networking group that takes place at Edgbaston Cricket Club. This gives me the opportunity to get out there and talk to other local businesses about the work we do here at CSCM.
As most of my colleagues say, no two days really are the same at CSCM. There is always plenty going on as we have many projects in motion and more still to come before the end of the year.
I achieved a Black Belt in Karate when I was 12.
Welcome to the Team

Jude is doing a Sky-Dive!
This Sunday the 10th September Jude will be completing a sky dive in aid of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. It takes place at Hinton Airfield, Banbury.
This is one of many challenges Jude has agreed to take part in this year and has already completed Tough Mudda and two separate 10k runs.
Additionally on Sunday 24th September Jude will take part in the Birmingham VELO. This is a 100 mile bike ride!
Jude has chosen to support the QE hospital for both of these events, due to the fantastic work they do. Jude and his family experienced this first hand, when a close family member needed their specialist care in 2016.
So we would really appreciate any support you can give to Jude and his chosen charity.

After the Horse has Bolted by Jezz Gobran
We all know what that phrase means, another similar one is “the damage has been done” both very common in my world. I get it, nobody wants to spend money that they don’t have to but in my opinion they’ve got it the wrong way round.
What really brought this home was the breach of CEX (the retailer) at the start of September, their response was “We have now employed an information security expert”. Great, but for the customers who have had their data breached (circa 2million customers) a little too late!
Let’s play out this scenario in a similar way to that of Talk Talk, negative media coverage, huge reputational damage, 40%+ drop in market value, loss of customers, and fines. Nobody wants to be in that position, but Talk Talk are renowned for not doing the right thing in this regard. Talk Talks approach of cost not investment and our clients data isn’t important has cost them over £63 Million so far (only £500K in fines). Pretty hefty hit I think!
And it’s not just large companies, a business turning over £300-400k was recently fined £60k by the ICO for poor security, that’s huge in turnover terms and the change in data protection law is likely to see those fines increase significantly!
Making sure you have the right information security processes in place not only protects your business, your reputation and your pocket, but it is the right thing to do by your clients as it helps your business comply with data protection laws.
It’s an investment that can have huge benefits beyond protecting your business.
If you want to find out more please get in touch, jgobran@i-Secured.co.uk or call me on 07714492290.
As always, if we can help securing your business and make sure you comply with Data Protection Laws, get in touch!
