CSCM quickly identified several areas of risk to the business, including ageing and failing hardware with a lack of fault tolerances, insufficient network cabling, no centralised email (all users operated individually) and the lack of a reliable backup solution. It was clear from the beginning that this was a major restructuring project to provide NANT with a reliable infrastructure from which to build upon.
CSCM proposed and implemented the Hewlett Packard DL Series server to form the central point of the NANT infrastructure. We ran Windows Small Business Server to deliver centralised email accounts and file storage, as well as hosting their SharePoint based intranet.
The server was built with several layers of redundancy, providing complete protection should any hardware failures occur and utilised virtualisation technologies to provide a highly stable and reliable server operating system.
CSCM implemented our entire set of Managed Services, providing protective layers at the email and desktop layers (via CSCM Max Mail and Managed Desktop). Most importantly, we protected valuable data through the use of secure offsite backup (CSCM Managed Backup).
- Stable and reliable infrastructure
- Gigabit network cabling and switches
- Multi-layered protection and security for the network
- Secure offsite data backup to CSCM Datacentre
- SharePoint internal website for collaboration across the business
